The new year for me usually brings a healthy dose of optimism and motivation. I’m particularly excited for my 2012 line up – mountain gallivanting, a cycling journey to Portland from Seattle, a trip down the Juan De Fuca trail and many more random adventures that pop up along the way.
I love plans, especially plans with set dates to make it more concrete – so many things to look forward to! Forget the same ol’ New Year’s resolutions of “lose weight…” or “stop smoking” – I think if we resolve to instead do specific activities like run your first 5k race, or take classes that you’ve always been interested in to spark your mind, then it’s so much more fun and less daunting than “lose 20 pounds”.
Oh and for that extra motivational push there’s nothing like gear that assists you with reaching your goals – maybe its time to get those sweet pair of running shoes! You may not run faster with them but you’ll feel like it!
